Truley amazing temple , very ancient temple and well intricate design and sculpture , I love the entrance design and especially windows with playing musicians and dancers with different poses is fantastic. It’s shiva temple . It’s just one very close to highway. I visited this temple while returning from goa . This is best one for history lovers as well artists and devotees , and priest also very cool person he allowed to take pics

This is Ancient Shiv Mahadev Temple, located in between Hubali and Dharwad 500 mtr from BRTS road, construction is very old and attractive. You can go inside Shivalaya ang Shivling Darshan closely and peacefully. Green lown is maintained well. Many people are doing pre wedding, maternity etc photoshoot here. But recently many houses built close to temple so parking area is not there. Government needs to give attention towards renovation and Maintenance of temple. Many people not knowing this place.

Chalukyas built this temple in the 11th and 12th century. Fables say that Chalukyans wanted to boast their architectural splendidness and showcase their power and wealth to their enemies. The tales says that the temple was built overnight by a group of anonymous artisans and sculptors. Since the temple was constructed in a night, and as the artisans couldn’t finish the whole work in one night, the temple structure is incomplete. Unlike other temples, the temple doesn’t have a gopura. It is few hundred metres away from Unkal Lake. If you are coming with your own two wheelers you can park it on the road in front of the temple. But for four wheelers parking may be an issue as the surroundings of the temple is very congested and the road towards it is quite narrow.
